Saving Precious Time

Saving Precious Time

Time is power, power is money, money is knowledge. We often forget we can’t buy time; it is a priceless possession we all have. We can, however, decide how to spend our time. Whether we dedicate our time to studying or learning new hobbies is different from when we devote our time to go to work.

Working implies doing something you might not always enjoy, but, it brings money, security, and wealth. On the other hand, doing hobbies means devoting time for your mental stability, happiness and health. With the evolution of humanity, we started living our lives at a fast pace. Incorporating duties and pleasures in only a day has become stressful and sometimes we ignore one or the other so we can carry on without worries about making it in time. Here are the main time-saving tips we should all be aware of!

Write a ‘To Do’ list

The secret to having time for both obligations and enjoyment is planning our day ahead. By simply writing down all the tasks that need to get done throughout the day, along with the place and time, we can prioritise duties and clearly organise the day.  Before the day is done, it would be good to write the plan for the next day, so we can attack the tasks as soon as the sun rises.

Schedule some ‘me’ time

As humans, we have essential needs that we should respect in order to be at all times our best selves. Eating three meals a day, drinking, going to the loo, calling our parents and loved ones are all necessities we face every day. Ignoring them, makes us grumpy and nervous. To avoid feeling anxious, we must consider scheduling appropriate time for them and giving them greater meaning.

Befriend technology

How many times were we hungry, but didn’t know what to cook with the ingredients left in the fridge? Nowadays, with a quick search on the internet, we are minutes away from eating something delicious. Technology really helps us with time-saving solutions to our problems. When there is a need to remember important dates and appointments, the calendar on our phones is the perfect secretary. Or in case our bus is not coming, we can easily find out other methods of transport available in the area. Many are the benefits of technology in this busy environment; the more tech-savvy we become, the more time we will have for something else.

Focus during studies

Isolating our wondrous thoughts during our study periods it’s a must if we want to gain free time. The best way to study effectively and without distractions is by having a specific place where we can focus, surrounded by silence. Switching off the data on our phones allows us to take a break from unrelenting social media notifications and concentrate on the study material in front of us.

Scheduling our time is a must if we want to keep leading busy lifestyles. Prioritising needs, tasks and wants organises our thoughts and we can start the day ready to complete all we’ve set our minds to. How we spend our time, defines who we are; so let us make the most of it!
