Is a four day working week the future at Purple Frog?

We pride ourselves in being a fair and progressive employer at Purple Frog and have introduced a number of policies since opening the company to improve working life for the our team. These include anonymous feedback surveys, flexible working where possible, unlimited holidays for our senior team and most recently a four day working week.

Four day working weeks have been shown to increase productivity and wellbeing of team members and are being trailed and implemented by companies across the world.

It’s something that we had wanted to try for some time but only recently were able to work through some of the more difficult issues, such as which days team members work, and how part time team members would be affected.

In the main, most full time team members will work an extra hour on four days each week and have an additional day off per week; for most, this is a set day each week which you’ll see in footers of any emails they send you.

Employees who aren’t able to work the additional hours on the four days they work will take off half a day per week. Our part time team members have been given additional holiday days to take as they see fit.

There are a few times in the year where we are so busy as a company that we restrict holidays, this will also apply for additional time off provided by this scheme and the days off will be provided as time in lieu.
