Agents to restart letting and selling activity?

The government announced on Tuesday 12th May an intention for property agents to resume letting and selling activity in an effort to restart the property market.

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2020 which are due to come into force on Wednesday 13th May include amendments  to alter travel restrictions as follows:

(v) or sub-paragraph (l), substitute—

“(l) to undertake any of the following activities in connection with the purchase, sale, letting or rental of a residential property— (i) visiting estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes; (ii) viewing residential properties to look for a property to buy or rent; (iii) preparing a residential property to move in;(iv) moving home; (v) visiting a residential property to undertake any activities required for the rental or sale of that property;”

The team at Purple Frog have been preparing for the inevitable reopening of our offices, as of this morning (Wednesday 13th May), our offices remain closed and we continue to provide our services over the phone and by email whilst we finalise our preparations, make suitable changes to our offices, and publish policies about how we will safely carry out our regular functions.

We are pleased that the government have acknowledged the importance of the property market in supporting people’s freedoms and supporting the economy, we are however very aware that we must reopen in a way that minimises risk to our tenants, clients and team members. We will share more updates shortly about our plans to reopen our doors.

How do you feel about Purple Frog?
